I can uncheck the tick boxes for menu bar separators in the customize standard
toolbars dialog.  However, it has no effect on appearence and going back into
the same dialog shows the separators have changed back to being ticked.

I am using 00o RC2.

Same behaviour with OOo2rc2 on WinXP.

You must delete them, not only uncheck.

But because a checkbox indicates, that you can change something, I think it is a
tiny defect in the UI. In OOo1.1.5 there is no checkbox at a seperator line.
