Description itzikhoffenung 2006-01-14 18:13:00 UTC
The look of a slide in the normal editing view is very different from the look
of it in the SlideShow / Slides / SlideSorter Views.

Copying the slide will produce a somewhat different slide but still not the same
as the normal view.

Saving the file with the new slide and opening it again will produce the first
look.

Comment 4 wangchenwei 2006-01-27 19:24:20 UTC
I've tryied to replicate the bug on both my laptop (Windows XP with version
2.0.1 installed) and some Linux machine (RedHat with version 1.0.1 installed)

I've tried the following steps:
(1) Open the demo slide file as posted
(2) It is already in the normal view so i suppose it is the beginning state to
replicate the bug
(3) Finally i clicked on slide show button and compare with the snapshot you gave

However, to me, it doesn't seem problematic or inconsistent. Neither when i copy
and paste a new slide. Since i'm using some 17" screen to replicate the bug, so
i suspect maybe the problem lies on the display rather than the program.

Some suggestion for you, feel free to take or ignore them: re-install the
current ooffice you had in your machine.

Comment 5 itzikhoffenung 2006-02-11 11:14:45 UTC
I have re-installed my OOffice - Same results.

I hope this will replicate the bug:
1. Open the posted file.
2. Press F5 - the slide will look fine.
3. Press ESC.
4. Select the text box with the "Amazing Chalk Drawings" text in
it by clicking on the word "Chalk".
5. Press F5 - the slide will show without the word "Drawings".
6. Press ESC.
7. Un-select the text box by clicking on empty space in the slide.
8. Press F5 - the slide will look fine.
9. Press ESC.
10. In the slides pane select slide 1. Press Ctrl+C to copy it.
11. In the slides pane click on empty space
under slide 1 and paste by pressing Ctrl+V.
12. Slide 2 tumbnail will look different from slide 1
    tumbnail (with the word "Drawings").
13. In slide 2 select the text box with the "Amazing Chalk Drawings" text in
it by clicking on the word "Chalk".
14. Press F5 - the slide will show with the word "Drawings",
without space betwen the word "Drawings" to "Testing testing".
15. Press ESC.
16. Un-select the text box by clicking on empty space in the slide.
17. Press F5 - the slide will look fine.
18. Press ESC.
19. Save the file with the new slide 2 under new name.
20. Open the new file - the tumbnails of slids 1 and 2
will be without the word "Drawings".

Just tried to replicate this issue in 2.0.2 had no success. It all seems to be
working fine.

Can someone else confirm this.

Hi,
I tried to reproduce the problem on several machines with 2.0.3 or m180, but I
cannot reproduce it, neither on Win XP nor on Linux. The slideshow looks always
fine. Only the preview in the slide pane refreshes not immediately when changing
the text in the text frame. But this seems to be ok for me, as the refreshing
happens when clicking outside the text frame.

itzikhoffenung, please check behaviour with the current version 2.0.3 of OOo.

Changing resolution to worksforme.
Comment 8 christian.guenther 2006-08-21 12:39:39 UTC
I tested it with several versions and can't reproduce the bug.
But we fixed another bug which could be the reason for this behaviour.
The fix will be integrated in OOo 2.0.4.
Please have a look if the bug still occures in OOo2.0.4 when it is released.
Comment 9 itzikhoffenung 2006-10-14 12:47:29 UTC
By this time I have replaced my computer, reinstaled Win XP and instaled OOo
2.0.4.
Same thing...
Now: I have WinXP in Hebrew. This may have any thing to do with this issue?

Your last entry was nearly 1 year ago.
We did many fixes in this time please have a look, if you can still reproduce
the bug.
Comment 11 itzikhoffenung 2007-09-21 12:41:51 UTC
Well, I dont have the original file so I opened the one I have posted.
In the Notes, Handout and the SlideShow views it looks OK, but in the Slide
sorter and in the Slides view in look as befor (not the same as in the normal
view).
Take a look at the new snapshot.

More info:
Take a look in normal view at the space line under "Julian Beaver's" when I'm
clicking there the curser in about the font size of 18. In the tool bar the
font is "ARIEL" 88.
After doind so a came up with a way to reproduce the bug:
1. Create a new empty pesentation.
2. Add a text box a littel bit under the top of the slide.
3. With the defult font (arial 18) write some words.
4. Press "Enter" key.
5. Write a second line.
6. Move to the 1st line and select it all.
7. Chang the font of the 1st line to size 88.
8. Move to the end of the 1st line.
9. Press "Enter" key to add a spce line. this line is added in the font size of
18 but in note the tool box - the font size there is 88.
10. Select all of the seconf line of text (without the space line) and Chang
the font size of it to 88 or bigger.
11. Look in the slides view. I have posted how it looks on my PC.

My OS Today is Win Vista Hebrew.
OOo v. 2.2.0

Set to new and change the target.
Comment 17 christian.guenther 2007-10-30 14:20:46 UTC
I can't still reproduce the bug but I found another strange behavior which is in
my mind similar to this bug.

- create a textbox
- insert a text line
- put the cursor in front of the text and press return
- change the font size of the text
- put the cursor in front of the text and press backspace and return
- change the font size of the text
- put the cursor in front of the text and press backspace and return
- the empty line has no font size
- when you write some text in the empty line the font size drop down menu is
still empty

Please have a look.
