Description lml 2006-02-13 13:44:39 UTC
As yo can see in the attached image, if an XML element contains
accentuated letter, the Result field doesn't show them properly.

The first dialog box contains what is written in the element's value,
and the second is the Result field

@lml, please
- specify your OS and Platform
- attach a sample document
- contribute a step by step instruction so that even QA members without
knowledge concerning editing XML documents can reproduce that problem
(I don't have any idea how to reach those "result fields").
Comment 4 lml 2006-12-04 18:28:11 UTC
Platform: Windows 2000 Prof, Intel x86; OOo 2.1rc1 (English)
Also tested on : Intel x86, UHU-Linux + OOo 2.0.2 (Hungarian)
(So I've left the Platform and OS fields of the issue on "All".)

Test case:
1. Open the file accent-test1.odt in edit mode.
On the right side the Data Navigator appears (if not, use the Data Navigator
button on the Form Design toolbar).
2. Click the "+" sign on instanceData (in Data Navigator)
3. Click the "+" sign on the accenttest element. (you have to see that the
default value of accenttest element: xxáxxéxxőxxűxx)
(there are double x-es for separators and the following utf-8 letters: á (C3
A1), é (C3 A9), ő (C5 91), ű (C5 B1) )
4. Right-click on element "accenttest", and select Edit Element.
(The Edit Element dialogbox appears)
5. Be careful: the "Default value" field is empty now, so if you clicked OK, the
test case would disappear (see issues 60494 and 61995). So do not press OK. :-)
6. Check the "Required" checkbox, and click on "Condition" button. The "Add
Condition" window appears.
7. In the "Condition" field erase the "true()" and write "/instanceData" or "/"
(without the quotation marks). A moment later "Results" panel will show this:
<accenttest>xx&#E1;xx&#E9;xx—xx«xx</accenttest> instead of
<accenttest>xxáxxéxxőxxűxx</accenttest> (I hope the browser will not mess the
accented letters between the xx-s.)

New enhancement request: Maybe it would be useful if I could copy the content of
the "Result" field to clipboard. :-)

Comment 6 Rainer Bielefeld 2006-12-04 19:15:27 UTC
I checked with "2.0.2 German version WIN XP: [680m5(Build9011)]" and can
confirm the problem. There will be shown code paraphrases instead of the
accentuated characters. The effect was also visible for self created contents in
the document.
