Description r4zoli 2006-04-27 20:32:54 UTC
I created odt document with first page header/ footer, exported to .doc (2000/XP
format). Closed document opened again and I found the first page header/footer
on second page, previously not having header/footer.

MRU->FLR: export attached odt to WW8 format and reopen -> now both üages have a
header.
It looks that the export filter is not aware of the manual page break including
a page style change.
Comment 5 pmladek 2006-05-29 18:53:26 UTC
I have reproduced the bug also on Linux with OOo-2.0.2 and OOo-2.0.3rc2.

It seems that the problem is only with the format MS Word 97/2000/XP. It looks
fine when I export it into MS Word 95 or MS Word 6.0.

Word 2003 XML output demonstrates same defect for file provided
Word 6.0 output demonstrates a variation in header format for file provided
The para style name for the header is retained in the word 6.0 conversion round
trip but not in Word 2003.

A contributor to the OOo forum pointed out the workaround of creating a null
header instead of having no header

When saving as .doc and reopening in OOo pre-2.3 it WorksForMe.
Comment 11 psillanp 2007-11-02 11:21:58 UTC
But it does not work when opening in Word.

This is not just about header/footer, it is about the whole page style (margins,
etc)

Is there any working workaround for this? I saved in word XP/95/6.0 formats,
opened in MS Word 2003, and the first page style was in every page in every case.

Problem still exists in version 2.3.1
Comment 15 cabrilo 2008-12-26 18:40:44 UTC
Issue still exists in OOorg 3.

Once saved as MS Word document, First Page formatting is applied to all pages.

The same problem in 3.1 dev m7

Problem still exists in version 3.3.1

Please note that this defect is a showstopper for any professional user of a
word processor who needs to send files in Word format to clients and the like.
The community forums get quite a lot of complaints about it (I've been a
volunteer there for a few years, so I know). Word does have a section ending
that matches the page style transit in OOo, so please use that. Please.

isn't this the same as issue 60332 ?
If not, it is at least very closely related
Comment 20 henke54 2010-01-20 10:31:09 UTC
confirmed... still exists in OOo version 3.1.1 with ubuntu 9.10

Workaround by deleting language settings
Comment 23 jpvdgiessen 2010-01-21 10:26:32 UTC
If the language settings in header/footer are deleted exporting to doc is
correct. Maybe this is a temporary workaround (see attachment Template02)
