Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 65010
Crash by copying and pasting link from Writer to Base
Last modified: 2006-08-16 17:06:50 UTC
When I try to copy text from Writer to Base into a field in a table, OpenOffice freezes. After force-quitting, it recovers the documents (both the Writer and the Base), but all my changes disappear (naturally). One thing to note is that my document in Writer is in .doc format. This happened three times in a row. Thanks.
cannot reproduce; can you attach sample files and a step-by-step description? thanks; Lars
Created attachment 36222 [details] database file that I was pasting authors in
Created attachment 36223 [details] word file that i was copying from
Step by step description of what caused a problem: Open InvasionLit.pdb. Open table 'Papers' for entering data. Open LiteratureInvasion.doc. Copy 3rd line in the document: 'Hamilton MA, Murray BR, Cadotte MW, Hose GC, Baker AC, Harris CJ, Licari D ' Paste it into the the 1st line of the 'Authors' column of the 'Papers' table, replacing entry 'Jones, J.' At this point Base and then Writer freeze.
cannot reproduce; neither with OOo 2.0.2 nor with 680_m164; When does Base freeze exactly? directly after the paste operation or when you try to select another cell? removing oooqa keyword; perhaps someone else can reproduce it.
Strange... I can reproduce a variant of the problem: If I try to copy the line with Writer opened alone, no freeze. And I can paste the text within the table without freeze (just a sql error). But if I try to copy with the table 'Papers' opened too: freeze. Hwoarang OOo m164 WinXP SP2
Response to lars: in my case OpenOffice crashes as I try to paste. The pasting operation never happens.
cannot repro in a 680m173 and m164, with opend or not opend table, copied form ms office or oo etc.
fs cannot repro, too - at the moment i have no further idea - if anybody can add a hint, please do so clu->epachepsky or hwoarang: may you add a further and more precise step by step description with every small detail (if you copy from context ..) - normally the description is really good, but in this case a small detail must make the difference thx
