Description taylormc 2006-05-23 15:05:53 UTC
OOo 2.0.3 rc2: Right-click menu on Quickstarter does not show the word
"Database" next to the Base icon on the menu. Left-clicking that menu item does,
nevertheless, start Base as normal.
Comment 1 Olaf Felka 2006-05-23 15:27:53 UTC
I've used
http://ftp.linux.cz/pub/localization/OpenOffice.org/devel/680/OOC680_m2/Build-1/OOo_2.0.3_060520_Win32Intel_install.exe.

I can't reproduce: The quickstart menu is complete, no missing descriptions.
BTW: Please have a look at the priority guide lines. This is shurely not a P1 issue.
Comment 2 taylormc 2006-05-23 15:40:48 UTC
The difference is that I have used the EN-GB build from the same source. Please
try with that build - I apologise for not having been specific.

I understand your concern about priorities, but my reasoning is that 2.0.3 is
liable to go live very shortly, for all I know with the rc2 build. Such a
glaring fault (however functionally trivial) would, I feel, be bad publicity,
and should therefore be considered a show-stopper. Your mileage may vary, of course.
Comment 3 Olaf Felka 2006-05-23 15:53:22 UTC
@ ihi: Is this something for you? Seems to be a regression (@ taylormc: Is it
correct?).
@ mh: Do you think that this could be a stoper fpr 2.0.3?
Comment 4 taylormc 2006-05-23 16:05:59 UTC
Certainly it was OK in the en-GB build of 2.0.2 rc5, if that's what you're asking.
Comment 5 ivo.hinkelmann 2006-05-23 17:14:05 UTC
do you provided up-to-date OOo 2.0.3 strings for en-GB ?
Comment 6 ivo.hinkelmann 2006-05-23 17:38:40 UTC
i60085 added this string, so we have the problem that

1.) we do not receive an en-GB update for OOo 2.0.3
2.) the quickstarter does not fallback to the English string
Comment 7 taylormc 2006-06-03 05:27:30 UTC
FYI problem is still there in 2.0.3 RC5, downloaded from
http://ftp.linux.cz/pub/localization/OpenOffice.org/devel/680/OOC680_m5/Build-1/OOo_2.0.3_060602_Win32Intel_install_en-GB.exe
Comment 8 kami911 2006-06-04 14:43:23 UTC
The described problem is not appears in HU version of 2.0.3 RCs.
Comment 9 ivo.hinkelmann 2006-06-06 11:05:41 UTC
hro, quickstarter does not fall back to English
Comment 10 taylormc 2006-07-03 13:19:56 UTC
I have now downloaded and installed the vanilla 2.0.3 rc7 build, confirmed that
the problem I describe does not occur; downloaded en-GB 2.0.3 rc7 langpack and
installed, confirmed behaviour as documented here; uninstalled langpack,
confirmed reversion to correct behaviour.
Hope this is helpful.
