Description avagula 2006-11-09 13:32:12 UTC
I have used that when document has title, it is shown on title bar instead of
file name. In milestones m190 and m191 I can test it is not shown.
And one more weirdness - I open file , lets say test.ods.
In title bar is shown "test.ods - OpenOffice.org Calc"
I make changes, now in title bar is "test - OpenOffice.org Calc".
I save may changes, now there is again "test.ods - OpenOffice.org Calc".
Btw, in File - Properties - General dialog, the file name field is as text
field, selectable and can have cursor. But it is not editable. Seems that
something is wrong with displaying/editing file properties.

As users reported, title displaying works in 2.0.4, so keyword 'regression' added
Comment 2 pavel 2006-11-13 08:43:05 UTC
confirmed in my build of OOE680_m2.
Comment 3 andreschnabel 2006-11-13 09:01:12 UTC
this behaviour is by intention .. and had been changed with OOo 2.0.

Please read
http://specs.openoffice.org/appwide/module_name_in_caption_bar/module_name_in_caption_bar.sxw
and
http://specs.openoffice.org/appwide/module_name_in_caption_bar/module_name_in_caption_bar.odt

the only thing, that does not comply with the spec is that the file extension is
shown in some cases. (I didn'd check this yet).
Therefore I leave the Issue ope, but this is definately not a stopper.

Andre: confirmed.

I can also confirm that the extension is sometimes shown/removed even in 2.0.4.
Comment 5 thorsten.martens 2006-11-27 12:39:14 UTC
Easy to reproduce: Create a new document (eg. *.odt) and save it -> Titlebar
shows name AND extension. Now close and reload the document -> Titlebar only
shows the name but not the extension anymore.

This behavior (removing the extension in the title bar when a change is made to
the document) has been annoying me lately. I use a little app that lets me
attach notes to a document so they show when I open the doc, but it keys off of
the window title. When the title bar changes, that app thinks the window has
been closed. So for me, there's a practical reason to want the title bar to
remain the same as long as the doc is open, whether changes have been made or not.

WinXP, OOo 2.1
