Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 72155
[a11y] OOo v2.0.4 oowriter goes into error recovery mode when Orca does a find operation.

On Ubuntu Edgy with OOo 2.0.4-0ubuntu2 from Oct 16 (taken from the About dialog), with latest Orca running, oowriter goes into error recovery mode, if I do a find operation in Orca. The Orca version I'm using is from GNOME CVS HEAD (this new Find functionality is not in a released Orca tarball yet). A new Orca tarball for GNOME 2.17.3 containing this functionality will be available in about four days time. At that time you will be able to find Orca v2.17.3 under ftp://ftp.gnome.org/pub/gnome/sources/orca/2.17 I've marked this as a P2 because it renders OOo oowriter unusable to blind users, who will try to use the new find functionality in Orca. Steps to reproduce: * For now, build Orca from GNOME CVS HEAD (or use the new Orca 2.17.3 tarball next week) % export CVSROOT=":ext:anonymous@cvs.gnome.org/cvs/gnome" % export CVS_RSH=ssh % cvs co orca % cd orca % ./autogen.sh --prefix=/usr % make % sudo make install * Run the Orca you just built. % /usr/bin/orca If this it your first time running Orca, then run: % /usr/bin/orca --text-setup and answer the various questions it asks you. * Run oowriter * Open a saved copy of the test document found at: http://bugzilla.gnome.org/attachment.cgi?id=77312 * Press the ./Del key on the numeric keypad. This will bring up the Orca Find dialog. * Enter "golf" in the "Search for:" text field and press the Return key. oowriter will go into Error recovery mode.
I downloaded OOo v2.1 (32bit Linux version) from the openoffice.org website and installed it. With this version, I cannot reproduce the problem.
