Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 73061
table cell does not take care of transparency in its background graphic
Last modified: 2013-08-07 14:38:26 UTC
The whole sheet has a background-image or a background-color, let's say yellow, doesn't matter. There's a table on this site. Inserted a transparency gif as background-image of an cell. Now the whole background of this cell is white (instead of yellow), my picture is visible of course. But there should only be my image and where my image is transparent there should be the background-color of the whole sheet instead of white.
dennis_mrowczynski, please provide sample document.
OK, of course. I've created a simple test-file, I hope it helps.

Confirming with OO 2.1 on Win XP - if attached "transparent-bg.gif" is specified as background for cell in table then background for the cell becomes white. Repro steps: 1. Open attached "transparent_table_bug.odt" and click upper left cell of the table. 2. Click Format, Paragrapg, Background, As Graphic, Browse and Open attached "transparent-bg.gif". Click OK. 3. Observe unexpected result as shown on attached screenshot "white-bg.PNG".

MRU->FME: when having a tranparent graphic as cell background, the transparency is interpreted as "white color" when rendering the table.
