Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 74430
Color added to the palette in one application doesn't show up while adding embedde OLE object
Last modified: 2017-05-20 11:30:03 UTC
The only way adding a chart to a presentation is by adding an ole-object of type chart to the presentation. If you add a custom color to the palette in impress you can't use this color while editing the chart. Possible solution: Use one color palette for all subcomponents of ooffice
Confirming with 2.1 and 2.2m5 on WinXP. Repro steps: 1. Open file http://www.openoffice.org/nonav/issues/showattachment.cgi/42935/demo.odp . 2. Click Tools, Options, OO., Colors and in "Name" type "distinctive123456", click Add (no need to change anything in the dialog), OK. 3. Bring up Colors dialog again to make sure that "distinctive123456" is there. Click OK. 4. D-click embedded object in the middle of the slide, r-click _empty_ cell (second row, below the words), click "Format cells", "Font effects", "Font Color" and make sure "distinctive123456" is not there.
TM->WG: please have a look, thanks !
Sorry, not reproducible here. The new color is also available in Spreadsheet OLE, too. Any hints about a special version, special installation type or anything else? Thanks in advance.
Tested with 2.0.3 under WinXP, 2.1 under Ubuntu Feisty and 2.0.X under Ubuntu Dapper: 1. Open file 2. Click area to bring up dialog 3. Choose tab "Color" 4. Add a new color with name "distinctiveNew" 5. Add OLE chart 6. Double click OLE chart to go into edit mode 7. Right click a cell and choose "Format cell" 8. Choose tab "Background" 9. Color "distinctiveNew" is not available
There seems to be a problem with the update frequency of the color table. At first I could not reproce but then it was there. Even after deleting colors from the tools/options/colors page they were still offered in Calc OLE. Reassigned.
Possibly also relates to wider issue: Issue 28994 - Save new colors inside the document (make custom colors easily available)
Fixed summary: "pallete" -> "palette".
Reset assigne to the default "issues@openoffice.apache.org".
