Description Mechtilde 2007-03-23 17:02:11 UTC
I also found it in the newest version of debian which include the same CWS.

I have a *.mdb database. I want to select some data from it for a new db used
with mysql.

I choose "Create query in design view"

I select the table.
OOo crashes.

Now I must look for a workaround.

As said multiple times, this CWS is not *remotely* production quality. I'm
heavily surprised to hear it is included in an official OOo build in the Debian
distribution - this is highly irresponsible.

I'll add this issue here to the CWS, but as also said more than once, the CWS is
currently stalled as far as the Base core team is concerned, as it reuqires too
much effort to bring it into a usable shape, with an highly unclear outcome.

Hello Fran,
I know that this CWS is not *remotely* production quality.

I only want to describe what this CWS doesn't do.

Is it right that we can't expect further development of this CWS in the next
versions?

If I have more Information then I can better describe what is possible and what
is impossible.

It is not only in Debian but also in Ubuntu and other Linux distris.
I'm personally not happy about this.

Yes, sorry. Unless we get some volunteer working on it.

Go on, please :)

Sorry if I was offending. It's just that I was really shocked hearing that
distributions use this CWS and put their user's data at risk with this, which
will fall back to the OpenOffice.org project. Anyway.

I set it to wontfix

There is no further developing expected.

Hmm. The core Base team won't spend time on this CWS on the forseeable future,
but this doesn't mean "There is no further developing expected.". Re-opening. I
still have the hope some distris will consider this feature important enough to
spend resources on it ;)

as fs told about this CWS WThere is no further developing expected."
I think we can closed it as invalid
