Add locales of available dictionaries to language list box.

I've tried with several versions of OOo to get the Cuban Spanish dictionary to be available in the Dictionary list with no success. I have no problem installing and using the Canadian French, Canadian English, Mexican Spanish, and other regional dictionaries. However, the Cuban Spanish dictionary cannot be installed properly. I'm presently using OOo 2.2 on a Win XP system, but I have no better success on Linux installations or with earlier versions of OOo. The Cuban dictionary is available through the OOo dictionaries wizard: [File> Wizards> Install New Dictionaries . . .]. It is shown in the retrieved list as "Spanish (Cuba)" and installs through the wizard. The installation places a [linguistics.xcu] file in the main program folder, rather than the user folder, and rewrites the [dictionary.lst] file normally in the /share/dict/ooo folder. I have tried manually installing the dictionary with no better success. Below is a section of the [dictionary.lst] file with the Cuban listing between the Canadian French and Mexican Spanish sections, which dictionaries both work fine: DICT en CA en_CA HYPH en CA hyph_en_GB THES en CA th_en_US_v2 DICT fr CA fr_FR HYPH fr CA hyph_fr_FR THES fr CA th_fr_FR_v2 DICT es CU es_CU HYPH es CU hyph_es_ES DICT es MX es_MX HYPH es MX hyph_es_ES DICT es ES es_ES HYPH es ES hyph_es_ES THES es ES th_es_ES_v2 Below is a portion of the [linguistic.xcu file] from the [OpenOffice.org2/user . . . /Office] folder under the User directory showing a Cuban listing in relation to the Spanish-Spanish and the Mexican-Spanish dictionaries. I've only copied in one such section. All other sections of [linguistic.xcu] with Mexican Spanish sections have identical sections for Cuban Spanish. I manually added the Cuban sections in because the installation wizard places the entries in an installation created [linguistic.xcu] file under a main program subfolder rather than in the existing [linguistic.scu] file under the user subfolder (I will be glad to supply a complete copy of my [linguistic.xcu] file, if desired). I then deleted the copy of [linguistic.xcu] from the main program subfolder, which only contained the Cuban dictionary entries. I can not find 'es_CU' in the languages list box, so I doubt that it can be possible to use that dict. No Idea whether your 'linguistic.xcu' are a tolerable way to make that language available. Problem seems to be similar to Issue 75782, Issue 73406.
SBA: Put TL on cc.
The es_CU dictionary is functional and gest installed properly by Dict OO. (I checked by mapping it to a different locale afterwards). Thus the only problem seems to be that Spanish (Cuba) is not listed in the language list boxes. TL->ER: Can you take care of this one? Thanks! TL->SBA: You may want to check if there are other OOo dictionaries for languages which are not yet added to our language list boxes.
Thanks to 'tl' for providing me with a list of languages/locales that do have a dictionary but no entry in the language list box yet: - Arabic (North Africa and Middle East) - too unspecific, this is a macro language, see http://www.sil.org/iso639-3/documentation.asp?id=ara - The entry must be a locale that can be mapped to a valid ISO 639 / 3166 combination. - Chichewa (Malawi) - Fula (West Africa) - too unspecific, this is a macro language, see http://www.sil.org/iso639-3/documentation.asp?id=ful - Note: spelling should be Fulah - Jula (West Africa) - West Africa is too unspecific, should be Burkina Faso instead, see http://www.ethnologue.com/show_language.asp?code=dyu - so mapping to dyu-BF - Kashubian (Poland) - Kiswahili (East Africa) - too unspecific, this is a macro language, see http://www.sil.org/iso639-3/documentation.asp?id=swa - We do have entries for Swahili (Kenya) [sw-KE] and Swahili (Tanzania) [sw-TZ], which actually isn't quite correct because "sw" denotes the macro language. This should be changed to "swh" instead. - Malagasy (Madagascar) - too unspecific, this is a macro language, see http://www.sil.org/iso639-3/documentation.asp?id=mlg - Quetchua (Bolivia) - too unspecific, this is a macro language, see http://www.sil.org/iso639-3/documentation.asp?id=que - Even for Bolivia there are two entries, Northern Quechua http://www.sil.org/iso639-3/documentation.asp?id=qul and Southern Quechua http://www.sil.org/iso639-3/documentation.asp?id=quh - Scottish Gaelic (Scotland) - we already have that: Gaelic (Scotland) [gd-GB] - Tagalog (Philippines) - added with cws locales23 to m219: Tagalog [tl-PH] - Tetun (Indonesia) - Wayunaiki (Venezuela) - should probably be Wayuu instead. Sure that this should be for Venezuela and not Colombia? See http://www.ethnologue.com/show_language.asp?code=guc - However, AFAIR dictionaries can be installed for a language using lng ANY in the dictionary.lst file, correct me if I'm wrong. We just don't offer non-locale languages as list box entries. So at the end this boils down to add - Chichewa (Malawi) - Kashubian (Poland) - Spanish (Cuba) - Tetun (Indonesia) unless the ambiguities above are resolved.

Actually Tetun is present in the list box but no mapping to ISO codes is implemented, so storing the language attribute isn't possible. Will use issue 64095 as follow-up for this.
