Description norbert2 2007-04-12 21:34:14 UTC
Please try to to import the attached file "tiff1.tif" into a document or try to
open it directly in draw: StarOffice freezes!

It's a corrupted compressed tiff image.

Both, MS Word and GIMP import/open the file but of course with graphic errors
(repeated lines).

GIMP additionally prints error-messages: (attached screenshot)
"PackBitsDecode: Not enough data for scanline xxx".

(The first error-message in the GIMP output (attached screenshot) isn't the
reason why StarOffie freezes. I have other TIFFs that only show this
error-message in GIMP and don't freeze StarOffice.)

I have found this bug on my PC at work. But I cannot reproduce it on my private
PC. So I close this issue.

Problem is reproducible with OOo2.2 (680m14 b9134), WinXP PC.
- Image drag n' dropped into new Writer document.
- Corrupted image is displayed reasonably (lines towards bottom are repeated).
- Image size changed.
- Document saved.
- Trying to open the saved document causes OOo to freeze- crash.

I will attach an example document.

Cheers,
Andrew

Comment 8 Mathias_Bauer 2007-04-13 15:47:11 UTC
wrong component
Comment 9 kpalagin 2007-04-16 13:53:38 UTC
Confirming - BrokenTIFF.odt sends OO into loop (using 2.2m7 on WinXP).

TM->WG: please have a look, thanks !
Comment 11 wolframgarten 2007-04-18 09:42:45 UTC
Opening the file works for me on Windows and Linux with 2.2.
Saving a file with the inserted tif and reloading freezes the office.
Reproducible. Reassigned.
Comment 12 wolframgarten 2007-04-18 09:51:22 UTC
Actually the document loads after 3 minutes... so, no real freeze.
Comment 13 clippka 2007-05-10 14:07:38 UTC

Comment 14 kpalagin 2007-05-15 12:27:46 UTC
It does not load for me using m211 on WinXP - after 30 minutes Office still
unresponsive.
Comment 15 sven.jacobi 2007-07-20 17:13:46 UTC
I do not have enough time to fix this issue for OOo2.3, changed target to OOo2.4
Comment 16 sven.jacobi 2008-01-21 15:28:04 UTC
I am sorry, I have to retarget this issue again.
Comment 17 sven.jacobi 2008-04-24 12:04:59 UTC
Reason for the crash on linux is a forward seek which results in allocating a
lot of memory. Issue 64814 needs to be fixed first.
Comment 18 sven.jacobi 2008-06-02 16:55:45 UTC
waiting for a fix for issue 64814->changed target
Comment 19 oooforum (fr) 2018-08-04 15:50:10 UTC
No problem to import tiff1.tif in AOO 4.1.5
