Description Regina Henschel 2007-05-23 15:34:28 UTC
The spec say in 5.3, "Drag and drop of controls any kind must be possible
between different sections. If the control is not completely above the new
section then the height of the current section has to be adjusted."

But you cannot drag and drop a control from one section to another. If you try
it, it will not work or (especially with the last section) you will drop a copy
of the control and the UI turns into an unstable state. In such unstable state,
the document will move if you hover the scrollbars with the mouse. You must shut
the design view and open it again, to get a stable view.

The Report Designer iTeam decided that this issue is a "should fix" for the
first release of the report designer. Targeting to 2.x, thus.

Fixed
Comment 5 ocke.janssen 2007-08-01 08:15:50 UTC
Please verify. Thanks.

You have to press CTRL to move controls between sections.
Comment 6 Frank Schönheit 2007-08-01 08:40:29 UTC
targeting to 2.3, since the fix is part of a CWS aiming for this release
Comment 7 marc.neumann 2007-08-02 08:33:15 UTC
write new issue 80260 for the missing visual feedback
verified in CWS dba23c

find more information about this CWS, like when it is available in the master
builds, in EIS, the Environment Information System:

Tested w/2.3m_1 SRB 1.0

Dragging a control onto another section - holding down the CTRL key and dropping
does work - BUT - the mouse cursor never changes to show that you have entered a
drop zone, letting the user knew they can drop it.
Comment 9 marc.neumann 2007-08-20 13:12:10 UTC
