Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 79304
Mac Beta 2 Issues
Last modified: 2007-10-27 10:16:40 UTC
I had a hard time categorizing the bug, but I figured I should proceed anyway. Please correct any categorizing. This is about the second beta for mac, oo 2.3 beta, I guess. There were a few obvious problens I noticed right away. A black line on the right-hand side edge of the page. Choppy scrolling. No window popped up when I tried to change macro security. The blue glass buttons are too big. Incorrect slash screen. Right clicking the icon in the dock to quit doesn't do anything (you have to use the taskbar). The icon looks way too big in the dock. There are no separate icons for Writer Calc, etc. (There should be a single OpenOffice.org folder containing icons for the various programs. I may not want to open Writer every single time.)
reassigned
Adding keyword, changing component. Some of these should be placed into separate issues. "Right clicking the icon in the dock to quit doesn't do anything (you have to use the taskbar)." has been moved to issue 79322 "The icon looks way too big in the dock." is a comment that has been made before. You are more than welcome to speak to the openoffice.org art project to produce improved icons for the mac. http://art.openoffice.org/ "There are no separate icons for Writer Calc, etc. (There should be a single OpenOffice.org folder containing icons for the various programs. I may not want to open Writer every single time.)" There has been some work on this already, however it will take a lot of work to get working. I cannot find the issue related to this just now. "The blue glass buttons are too big." Which blue glass buttons? Please explain further. "No window popped up when I tried to change macro security." Can you please create a new issue for this, and give exact steps to reproduce please? "Choppy scrolling." Scrolling isn't yet as smooth as other Mac OS X apps. "A black line on the right-hand side edge of the page." That is meant to be the shadow of the paper. There does appear to be an extra grey line there, not sure why. I'll let someone else respond to this. (Generally it should be one bug one issue, rather than many bugs one issue.)
setting subcomponent
There is no issue for "separate icons" (= separate applications), only a prototype: http://porting.openoffice.org/servlets/ReadMsg?listName=mac&msgNo=4348 The remaining hard part is to get OOo to produce proper binaries for the individual apps, not just symlinks.
Glass buttons; When I was installing the program, the buttons like "ok" were too large, and the text was also too large. I'm not sure, but that seems to be okay now. Will file separate bug about the pop-up window.
Opened issue 79885 for no window on clicking on Macro Security. This stops automated testing of the Aqua builds. A workaround was found until this feature is enabled.
Created attachment 48178 [details] patch to allow macros to work on Aqua ( Mac OS X )
Issue fixed in aquavclcarbonfixes
Sorry, I attached the patch to the bad issue ( 79885 was concerned) Reopening issue Sorry for the noise
Issue invalid: the rule is one problem, one issue and you wrote several here. Not manageable. @artguy10 : can you please check if your issue are still there with a recent Aqua snapshot ? For me they are all, except icons if I'm not wrong. The most simple for you is to check there : http://www.openoffice.org/issues/buglist.cgi?keywords=aqua Thanks
