Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 79678
RTF issue
Last modified: 2008-11-05 21:08:05 UTC
Hi, I'm using OpenOffice.org 2.3 beta 2 for Mac OS X (Aqua version). I assigned rtf documents to open with OOo, and I just noticed two issues (sorry, but it kind of is one issue). One, there is no picture in the rtf icon (the icon just looks like a blank sheet). Two (the really main issue), there is no text when I double-clicked it. OOo opened, but no text shows up. Opening the document from OOo's "open" dialog works fine, but opening the document from the Finder only opens OOo, but not the document. I haven't tested other document types.

The opening of the document is Issue 78358 It has been fixed and will be in the next preview. The blank icon, is due to OpenOffice.org not having an icon for RTF documents, and not having a respective entry in the Info.plist file.
ericb->artguy10 This issue should be fixed with recent changes. Did you test recently ? About .rtf, it is very difficult to decide to make OpenOffice.org open .rtf on Mac OS X as default. ( the users will maybe simply complain)
