Description Regina Henschel 2007-09-15 19:55:03 UTC
Take Writer document.
Insert a fontwork object form the fontwork gallery.
Open the toolbar "Fontwork shape".
Assign a shape to your fontwork object.
The object becomes invisible.

The object is still there. If you open the file in OOo2.2.1 you can see the
fontwork.

This is OK on SRC680m223 and broken in SRC680m225 and still broken in
OOo2.3.0rc3. The error also occurs for fontwork objects in Calc, Draw and
Impress. You get the same defect of invisible fontwork, if you open a document
with fontwork, that was written in OOo2.2.1.
Comment 1 jolatt 2007-09-16 08:16:15 UTC
Think, this should be a showstopper for OOo 2.3.
Comment 2 andreschnabel 2007-09-16 09:40:32 UTC
confirmed on Win XP and Linux (OOo 2.3rc3)
Comment 3 ooo 2007-09-16 09:55:28 UTC

Tescase OOo 2.3rc3 shows only one out of three objects
Comment 5 Regina Henschel 2007-09-16 16:45:05 UTC
Another problem with fontwork: You cannot cut a fontwork object, it is in the
clipboard, but the object is not deleted at the old place.

Adding regression keyword.

MD: Only partially able to reproduce on Solaris SRC680m228. In Writer the
fontwork object is not visible, but Calc, Draw, Impress is working fine.

On Windows 2003 via rdesktop with a SRC680m226, I can't reproduce it at all,
neither in Writer nor in any other app.
Comment 10 mdxonefour 2007-09-17 08:43:42 UTC
MD: Now I *can* reproduce it on all platforms. To reproduce it you have *not* to
use Fontwork Shape "Arch left (Curve)", "Arch left (Pour)", "Arch right (Curve)"
or "Arch right (Pour)". With all others you can reproduce the issue.

patch for offapi/com/sun/star/drawing/XEnhancedCustomShapeDefaulter.idl
Comment 17 rt 2007-09-26 09:45:46 UTC
Please add '#include <com/sun/star/uno/XInterface.idl>'
to XEnhancedCustomShapeDefaulter.idl (see applied patch) to avoid build breakage
as currently seen in tinderboxes.
Comment 18 sven.jacobi 2007-09-26 09:51:16 UTC
the patch has been added into cws[impress131]
Comment 19 chrisgraham 2007-09-26 23:01:38 UTC
Most of the default fontwork are OK from the fontwork gallery but when trying to
change the fontwork shape the writing vanishes. The object is still present and
clicking on where the centre of the object allows the characters in the text to
be retyped but they still remain invisible when you click somewhere else. The
problem seems to be with the "Fontwork shape" routine.

Comment 25 tboxmy 2007-11-07 15:26:42 UTC
Fontwork feature is urgently needed to enhance Impress usage. I would like to
inform two instance of the Fontwork problem:
1) When I open Impress 1st time and try to add fontwork style 26
2) When I try to modify (using the Fontwork toolbar) the Fontwork Styles

All fontwork styles appear only when I selected each style from style 1 to the
last style. Example of the problem is when I open the Impress first time and
select style 26 onwards, it does not appear.

The consistent problem occurs when I try to change existing "Fontwork shapes".
The Fontwork disappears.

According to german QA mailing list the issue reoccurred in m238. More details
soon to come.
Comment 32 andreschnabel 2007-12-01 09:31:13 UTC
broken again in SRC680m38: the attached test document does not show any fontwork
objects - if a new fontwork object is inserted from Gallery it is again invisible
Comment 33 jolatt 2007-12-01 11:57:22 UTC
For clarification. Broken fontwork is to be seen only in Writer. The other
modules are o.k.
Comment 34 christian.guenther 2007-12-04 11:56:57 UTC
I can reproduce that the bug occurs again in src680m238.

What is the build that incorporates the fix for broken fontwork?
Specifically, I am interested if m241 is OK.

Thanks.
Comment 39 jolatt 2008-01-10 07:01:56 UTC
Not OK. in m242.
