Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 82396
testtool: ResetApplication should ignore 'there is a new OOo version available' window
Last modified: 2017-05-20 11:33:25 UTC
If the command resetApplication is called, during the dropdown/popup window of the update notification, it is recognized as a window with no title, and the closing of it generates a message; We don't need the message about this window - please close the window just silently by resetApplication. Should be fixed soon, as the results of the tests are filled with such errors, that are no errors...
There are some more windows wishes for the ignore list from the automation team: - Navigator - Stylist
why is the onlineupdate enabled in testing environment anyways? isn't that a bug? and also if the navigator or stylist is still open at the end of the test this should be fixed. Culd be that closing the windoes does not work anymore. Imho this helps hiding errors, so I would like not to implement it. Adding jsi to cc Jogi? any comments?
jsi: please comment
1st: I have not decided to use online updates in testing environment. We have just to react on the different environment. 2nd: We have decided in the automation project team that we won't react on navigator and stylst and opened toolbars because it is no issue that they are opened. This behaviour has been change a long time ago and we should adopt the changed environment. Id you do not agree -> TZ
set target devtools, suites better for this cws
I don't like the idea of hard coded magic so I suggest to have a command like resetapplication_DontReportID <id to ignore> [, BOOL] default is to add the ID to a list if the boolean is given and FALSE the ID is removed from the list again. This way we don't need to change the testtool in case the IDs change. Please comment on this to have me start coding. TZ: how about disabeling onlineupdate in testenvironment altogether. It will make testresults unreliable as the dialog can pop up any time and kill the test.
Reset assigne to the default "issues@openoffice.apache.org".
