Tested on m233, windows XP.

In the following test document:

The date fields are imported as chinese... Check the screenshots:

The test documnte was created with Ms Office 97.

This may be related to issue 36594 and issue 29646.

MRU->HBRINKM: see the mentioned doc, many of the French date fields there will
be imported as Japanese formatted dates. The character format of the text is
imported correctly - the field properties are set to "Japanese".

OOo 3.0? That far? I am quite sorry about this choice, as this issue impacts all
companies trying to migrate to OOo. We have been working with a bunch of
companies representing 500,000 enterprise users, and each of them told us that
this was one of the main issues .

I was thinking that with issue 29646 and issue 36594 the date field problems
would be solved, but it seems that I was wrong...

PS: thanks for rectifying chinese -> Japanese ;-)
