Description vanfelsing 2007-10-19 12:20:30 UTC
I use the German version of OO. Since OO Version 1, I incorporated user-defined
variables in the footer. That means, I defined a variable in the body of the
document template thru the known process via the menu INSERT, e.g. LETTERNUMBER
and gave it a value, e.g. "2007-nnn". Afterwards I set the cursor in the footer
and chose "DISPLAY VARIABLE" "LETTERNUMBER", where it shows then "2007-nnn". So
basically, my template has a field in the body of the document, where I can
click and overwrite the number of the letter and automatically the value in the
footer should be changed. This worked until I implemented the OO 2.3 version.
Now there's a bug showing a "0" as value in the footer regardless of the value
I put in the "SET VARIABLE" "LETTERNUMBER" field. I could narrow this issue
down to: variables with format "date" or "number" show correctly. Variables
with format "Standard" or "Text" show "0". In the body of the document all
tested variables show correctly. This affects not only
the "simple" "SET/DISPLAY VARIABLE" but also the "INPUT BOX VARIABLE(?)" (in
German called "EINGABEFELD").

I urgently need help on this, since my whole correspondence depends on it.

Thanks.

Reassigned to ES.

Effect is like in Issue 81766, but reasons seem to be different?
Comment 4 andreschnabel 2007-11-24 10:06:14 UTC
confirmed and set as regression, as this worked correctly in OOo 2.2

note: this seems to happen only if the variables are displayed in the header /
footer

duplicate to issue 82544.
