Description ericv 2007-11-09 15:40:14 UTC
The annoying point is that changing
the anchoring tyep on big document leads to have a figure oping up anywhere in
the surrounding pages...

@ericv:
Please first read our guidelines on
<http://qa.openoffice.org/issue_handling/pre_submission.html> and
<http://www.openoffice.org/bugs/bug_writing_guidelines.html>, then
contribute a clear step by step instruction containing all observations (error
messages ...), every key press and every mouse click how to reproduce the
problem. Also a sample document would be helpful.

fix the problem here. You can also send the document directly

Click on the anchored figure and try to ungoup it by
    1) right click,
    2) scroll down to group menu item,

You have no selection at the right of the ungroup

Then do
    1) right click,
    2) scroll down to anchor and chnage anchoring from "As character",
to any other anchoring option (e.g. to "to character" and then you will
be able to ungroup it.

MRU->OD: might be related to issue 54325. That one is about object groups from
MS's drawing canvas - these are also imported "as character" anchored.
Comment 8 ericv 2007-11-13 14:32:33 UTC
I have the same problem with figures that have been created from ground up
by opennoffice writer.
Comment 9 Rainer Bielefeld 2007-11-13 19:30:01 UTC
I can't see for what "ungroup" of such an image 'anchored as character' could be
useful. All elements would be anchored as characters as a long chain of
characters, or what result do you expect?

But of course, it would be useful if "edit group" would be offered. But this
would be an ENHANCEMENT.
Comment 10 ericv 2007-11-13 22:02:01 UTC
I do not agree or not understand what you mean : the anchor type apply to the
figure as a whole not to single elements of the figure???? Plus what is then the
difference to "to character" which works?

Enhancement, pls see. comments in "demo.zip".
UI, because function is missing in UI
Together with the WORD import behaviour of OOo this might be really important,
pls. see issue 54325!
Comment 13 ericv 2007-11-14 13:14:30 UTC
Thanks rainer for taking the time to explain the different anchoring as/to
character mode.

I'm still wondering why I have no right to modify a figure anchored as
character. And as doing this requires mots of the time ungrouping...

Will wait patiently.

Thanks for your time
