I tested DEBs from Sun and Pavel for 32 bit Debian.

I tested it with
http://marketing.openoffice.org/ooocon2007/programme/thursday_70.odp 

It didn't work longer than to the 4th slide. Then I saw the design view.
It works with 2.3.1 so it is a regression and P2

I tested the issue in the mentioned version and in the latest version on Suse
Linux and on Ubuntu and can't reproduce the bug.
Please have a look, if you can still reproduce the bug in the latest version.
I change the resolution to works for me.

after nearly one year it works again :)
