Description alexismp 2008-06-13 10:16:52 UTC
Mac application windows have a Proxy Icons. OOo 3.0 beta is missing this.

For background, please see "The Proxy Icon" paragraph in the Apple Human Interface Guidelines:
http://developer.apple.com/documentation/UserExperience/Conceptual/AppleHIGuidelines/XHIGWindows
/chapter_18_section_4.html

This is *very* convenient for drag-n-dropping files as attachments in emails.
I have a hard time living without it.

I wonder what you mean : using Aqua version of OpenOffice.org, you'll see that drag any
OpenOffice.org document (attached in a mail) on the docked OpenOffice.org icon already opens
OpenOffice.org as expected (just verified with m18)

But indeed, the proxy feature is missing (we discussed the point with Philipp Lohmann and Michael
Sicotte during the WWDC), and agreed to add that to the todo list

See : http://wiki.services.openoffice.org/wiki/Mac_OS_X_Porting_-_Roadmap for further information.

Issue confirmed.

Yes, I meant the proxy feature. Thanks.

Note to self :

As suggested pl, the less complicated method could be to add a new method to SystemWindow which
framework can set the URI on. The method then passes the actual work to its SalFrame -> that is the
system dependent part.

Let's have a look at how framework does manage that
