Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 93289
Impossible to open OOo for mac
Last modified: 2008-09-01 01:09:11 UTC
Steps to reproduce 1. Download OOO300_m4 from Maho or SUN 2. Activate the .dmg 3. Copy it to the Application folder 4. Tray to start it. You resive a message 'You can't open the application "OpenOffice.org.app" because it is not supported on this architecture" After activating the dmg, the OOo icon has a forbidden icon. I will add a screenshot.
Created attachment 56112 [details] Screenshot with the forbidden icon

problem: Symlink soffice → soffice.bin was removed, but Info.plist still refers to soffice → Doesn't exist → OOo will not start. Workarounds/Solutions: either create the symlink or change the entry in Info.plist accordingly. see also issue 92798 I wonder how the cws that removed the link made it through QA :-(
