Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 93613
Solver does not save its model
Last modified: 2013-01-29 21:49:39 UTC
The Solver in Calc is useless for scientific use! Saving a document doesn't save the conditions and changes one made in Solver. Without this, Calc can not bet used even for small projects in subjects like Logistics or Economics in general. I hope this issue will be fixed soon, i can't imagine it would be great effort solving it. Thanx Johannes

Before Open Office can be a useful optimization tool, it must have the ability to save stored models so they can be retrieved at a later date. cbrad033
Yes, not being able to save in the Solver means I have to start over after exiting the software I will continue to use Excel until this issue is resolved.

solver doesn't restore the constraints when I open the saved file to work on. When I open file, I need to set solver from the begining. If you solve this issue, It will have better than excel, in my opinion off course. Thanks.. Mehmet FIDANCI
To be a competitive software the program must be able to save.

Not saving really limits its use for long projects/problems

The software lacks of effectiveness for the fact that it doesn't allow users to save their completed work. Please see what we can do about this issue to make the software marketable and competitive. Thank you,

The Solver needs to save the work in previous projects because it forces you to finish the project when you start, which can be difficult.
I think this is an important issue. If open office has the ability to save it will be easy for everybody, student, workers, etc to store their work for future need.

Please look at adding this to future features included in OO. Thank you.
What is the point of having a program such as this if I cannot save my work? IN order for this to be useful I must be able to save my work and be able continue at a later time.
