Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 94879
Word processor: can not delete "new line" after or between tables
Last modified: 2013-08-07 14:44:35 UTC
1. Open a new writer document 2. Create a table in the document 3. Enter new lines to push table to bottom of page 4. When the table is at the bottom, you will find you now have two pages. 5. To have the table at the bottom, you will need to reduce the page bottom margin to delete the second page. 6. You now have a new line at the bottom of the page after the table which can not be deleted This bug is reported on Ubuntu Launchpad as: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/openoffice.org/+bug/254655
Created attachment 57120 [details] Sample document with tables
Go to end of paragraph in left bottom cell. Ctrl+Shift+Delete. Finder other useful shortcut keys in the help in part "Shortcut Keys for Tables in OpenOffice.org Writer" in chapter "Shortcut Keys for OpenOffice.org Writer."
closing, no bug
Excuse me, not "left bottom" but "right bottom".
Thank you very much for such a fast response. I'm sorry I did not find that shortcut on my own. It works great; just I would expect. Thanks again.
As noted in Ubuntu bug https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/254655 Even if you do the ctrl-shift-delete trick then save the document when you reopen the document the extra line break is back. See this file as an example. http://launchpadlibrarian.net/20836473/Business%20Cards%20123108.odt
Marked as confirmed, see above comment.
MRU->AMA: as described above, delete the empty paragraph following a table (by Ctrl-Shift-Delete). After save&reload the paragraph will reappear.
