Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 95119
Aqua: Condensed character spacing leads to text flowing over page border
Last modified: 2013-08-07 14:44:20 UTC

MRU->frieder2008: please submit issues only in English language. Thanks! MRU->HDU: see attached document, the character spacing leads to a miscalculation of the text display. Text is displayed out of the text limits on the right. Happens only on Mac build.
.
Fixed in CWS ooo301gsl1: The ancient semantics for nCharExtra!=0 in OutputDevice::GetTextBreak() is difficult to emulate with ATSU.
@es: please verify in CWS ooo301gsl1 Testing hints: OSX Aqua only, watch out for line-breaking, condensed/expanded spacing, performance issues

OK in OOO300_m15. Closed.
For me, OpenOffice 3.1 has regressed. NeoOffice still works well.
Sorry, I noticed that because I'm posting to this issue the first time, I should be more elaborate: I use OpenOffice on a Mac. As in 3.0, in 3.1 it is again the case that it letter spacing is set in paragraph formats, between-word spacing is increased, but letter-spacing is not. Applying explicit formatting like italics helps (so applying it twice gives the desired spacing). Not sure it is related to the original bug, but it looks and feels the same as the Issue 94749 duplicate of .this bug. I'd be very grateful if you could look into this again.
Still reproducible on 3.1.1 (Mac). Please, would you look into this?
