Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 9610
The text of the header is outside of the header border
Last modified: 2013-08-07 14:38:26 UTC
Steps to reproduce the problem: 1.Start a new OOo text document 2.Go to menu Insert->Header->Default 3.Enter a letter “a” in the header 4.Put the cursor in front of letter “a” you just typed 5.Hit Enter 37 times Result: the letter "a" falls off the bottom of the header into the space between the header and the body text. After I save the file and open it again, the letter "a" is not visible. See the attached file.

Following the steps that you gave. In 1.1Beta2 the same thing happens. I am confirming this issue. Thanks.
SBA->FME: Reproducible in 645m8. Not exactly with 37 empty paragraphs, but a few more might do. This seems to be another case where it is desired to have an office smarter then the user (i.e. by asking "Are you sure you intend to define 'top margins=80% of the page' with a useless huge empty header?") ;-) This is indeed a bug but in my opinion only something that comes to show while testing, not in real life. Prio changed to 4.
.
SBA: According to the OpenOffice.org roadmap (see http://tools.openoffice.org/releases) this issue was retargeted to "OOo Later".
I actually ran into this issue with a writer document (Version 3.1) that I created where the Header picture ran 2.7 in. top margin; the date of the document began at 2.75 in. top margin, as well. But when it printed to PDF-create to a scan document pdf printer, the whole document 1st page of the document was blank, and the 2nd page, which had a picture in it, was totally re-sized to 10 times the original size.
