Description bahejl 2008-11-12 21:19:59 UTC
If you group any cells in a column or row of a pivot table, the "Identify
Categories" option stops working. After this happens, I cannot find a way to
get "Identify Categories" to start working again short of deleting the pivot
table, creating a new one, and not grouping any fields.

Sample of information to reproduce "Identify Categories" error
Comment 2 bahejl 2008-11-12 21:30:56 UTC
I forgot to mention that this problem is specific to Open Office 3.0, as I had
no problems with Open Office 2.4. I have attached a sample file to this bug to
allow you to easily reproduce the issue. Please do the following:
1. Open the attached file
2. Select the A1 cell
3. Select Data -> DataPilot -> Start...
4. Select "Current selection" and click OK
5. Drag "Debits" into the Data Fields, and drag "Payer/Payee" into the Row
Fields
6. Click More, and place a check in the "Identify Categories" check box.
7. Click OK to create the DataPilot table. Scroll down to A109 to view the
table.
8. Notice that there are no rows marked as "(empty)".
9. Highlight the "Finance Charge" and "Late Fee" cells.
10. Select Data -> Group and Outline -> Group

Notice that a new row labeled "(empty)" will appear. This represent the rows
who's categories should be recognized by "Identify Categories", but aren't.

Can confirm with OOO300m9. Is fine with OOo 2.4.0 --> regression

Do you wanna have a look?
Comment 5 kyoshida 2008-11-17 16:43:13 UTC
yeeees, I guess this is my territory. Grouping is really a tricky beast in the
DataPilot implementation...
Comment 6 kyoshida 2008-11-20 16:40:27 UTC
accepting it & filed downstream to keep better track.

patch to fix this
Comment 8 kyoshida 2008-12-05 17:12:06 UTC
It was luckily a very simple oversight & was very simple to fix.

Now, do we have an open CWS that we can commit this patch to, or do I need to
create a new CWS for this small patch...?
Comment 9 kyoshida 2008-12-11 20:40:14 UTC
setting target to 3.1.
Comment 10 kyoshida 2008-12-11 20:46:54 UTC
fixed in kohei02 cws.
Comment 11 Stefan Weigel 2008-12-28 19:26:38 UTC
verified in DEV300_m38.
Comment 12 Stefan Weigel 2008-12-28 19:28:02 UTC
verified, fixed --> closed.
Comment 13 kyoshida 2008-12-28 22:51:10 UTC
Are you sure this is really verified? This is fixed in kohei02 cws, but that
cws hasn't been integrated yet.
Comment 14 kyoshida 2008-12-28 22:53:03 UTC
setting it to fixed again (in kohei02 cws), but as of today, it hasn't been
integrated.
Comment 15 kyoshida 2009-01-06 16:45:15 UTC
reassigning to Mick for QA.
Comment 16 niklas.nebel 2009-01-06 19:11:40 UTC
Wait! Measure values (from data fields) must not be repeated.
Comment 17 kyoshida 2009-01-06 19:23:35 UTC
Can you be more specific?

Comment 19 kyoshida 2009-01-06 21:22:20 UTC
@nn: I hope I'm interpreting your comment correctly. That should be easy to fix.

a little more complex test case
Comment 21 kyoshida 2009-01-07 02:18:37 UTC
re-opening, to fix the data field issue.
Comment 22 kyoshida 2009-01-07 02:21:23 UTC
fixed once again. Now the 'Identify category' option is applied only on column,
row, and page fields, but not data fields. This applies when computing the
result data as well as inserting a drill-down data sheet.

Comment 24 niklas.nebel 2009-01-07 12:25:42 UTC
Kohei, yes, that's what I meant. Seems right now.
Comment 25 kyoshida 2009-01-13 06:21:24 UTC
assigned to the wrong guy. Mick's alias is kenyu, not kyu. :-(
