Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 98804
Crash when smart folder is present
Last modified: 2009-09-18 18:36:51 UTC
Hello, Every time I try to browse a folder (to open a file from the menu or the splash screen, to save a file in this folder or if the last action was trying to browse this folder), from OpenOffice, where a smart folder is present, OpenOffice crashes (can't send a bug report). It happens on an iBook G4, 1.3Ghz and 768Mo. I can send a crash log if needed. Thanks, BLD
Created attachment 59864 [details] The crash log (sorry, it's my first bug report here)
I can confirm this issue, tested with Mac OS X 10.4.11 on PPC and OpenOffice.org 3.1.0 Crash = P2, change priority On Intel with 10.5.x it's all OK
change component and subcomponent add myself to CC
@ rbircher: Please don't set 3.1.1 target without announcing it on the release list. Please look here: http://wiki.services.openoffice.org/wiki/OOoRelease311
@ loria Can you have a look
It would be interesting to know whether the problem also exists when the checkbox OpenOffice->Preferences->OpenOffice->General->Open/SaveDialogs->UseOOoDialogs is enabled.
It works with ooo dialogs. I expected it
On Mac OS X 10.5.x it works well It will be good, if sameone can test it on 10.4.11 Intel. So we are sure, that this issue is PPC only
Good to that this bug isn't lost in space and to have so many people working on it. I can confirm that the solution to use OOo dialogs works for me too; despite of the fact that, how to say… it's less "natural" than use system windows. Thx
rbircher > biglittledragoon To use the OOo dialogs is not a solution, it's a test, to know who is the bug. Well, you can use the OOo dialogs as workaround at the moment. But this is not a bugfix for use, just for your information. Thanks to report it.
I wouldn't call it a blocker for 3.1.1; 3.2 should be ok; At first I thought I could not reproduce it, now I can on Intel and PPC 10.4.11; The trick is to create the search in the suggested default folder for 'saved searches'; Then in OOo navigate to it at: $HOME/Library/Saved Searches to open e.g. a file -> Bumm! Using OOo internal dialogs, instead of native ones, is not an option here, because you do not get the function of the saved search. (Now it also crashes on any folder containing a savedSearch, which worked yesterday...) I will add the report ID when I get it...
taking over now that I can reproduce it.
fixed in CWS ooo311gsl04
please verify in CWS ooo311gsl04
Verified with cws ooo311gsl04 on PL's machine = Crash is fixed.
