I've entered valid SMTP server and authentication settings in the OpenOffice Writer - Mail Merge E-mail 
panel of the OOO preferences. When I click "Test settings..." the results are always "failed" on Establish 
network connection and Find outgoing mail server.

The status results of the first test I run after launching OOO persist. If I change the Mail Merge Email 
settings and test again, the same results come up. There's no delay in showing the results like there is the 
first time I run, and I have the feeling that the previous test results are sticking and cannot be cleared or 
the test cannot be run twice.
