Description hirano_s 2010-02-06 07:48:29 UTC
Hello,

1. I have text which orientation is vertical in Japanese (TATEGAKI format).
2. Expected PDF is with vertical text.
3. Exported PDF is with horizontal text.

This phenomenon appears always.

Regards,

Comment 3 Rainer Bielefeld 2010-02-06 09:10:14 UTC
NOT reproducible with "Ooo 3.1.1 WIN XP DE[OOO310m19 (Build 9420)]"! In
"vertical_text_sample_my.pdf" from my OOo character orientation is identical to
orientation in in OOo, but I can't decide whether orientation in OOo is correct.
Also ok with "Ooo-Dev 3.3.0 multilingual version English UI WIN XP: [DEV300m70
(Build 9478)]"!
I can't check with 3.2RC
MAC specific? Version specific?

@hirano_s:
Please check my screenshots concerning text orientation.
How are your results with CALC, DRAW, IMPRESS?

Thanks for prompt response.

I was shocked because both of your screen captures were different from my screen
captures. Please look at vertical_text_sample_writer.tiff and
vertical_text_sample_pdf.tiff

The vertical_text_sample_pdf.tiff was shown with the Preview utility of Mac OS X
(10.6.2).
Comment 8 Rainer Bielefeld 2010-02-06 11:49:20 UTC
Now it's sure that the problem is not reproducible for me
Comment 9 hirano_s 2010-02-06 12:29:28 UTC
I see.

The correct one is vertical_text_sample_writer.tiff.

* Correct

   My Writer (3.2RC5 on Mac OS X)

* Incorrect

   Your Writer (3.1.1 on Windows)
   PDF generated with my Writer

A couple of weeks ago I switched from Windows to Mac. I found that the quality
of OpenOffice very high on Mac. I really appreciate your great efforts. Thank
you very much. Since I've already sold the Windows machine, I cannot try the
vertical text on Windows.

Although OOo has enough quality for my daily use, I need vertical text to edit
my father's book.
