Description goa103 2003-10-10 17:53:14 UTC
(sorry but I wasn't able to file that issue for 2 components : Word Processor &
Drawing)

It seems that Writer can't close that special document for an unknown reason.
You can get it from the URL : "Jean-Marc Molina's Test Text Document.sxw". If I
remove it from the document, I can close it... But sometimes I can't even remove
it, Writer just freezes. And I get my favourite Sun Error Report... Again :( :
"Crash when closing the doc.png" (from the URL too).

It's weird because this sample document comes from a huge document that contains
tons of other drawing objects, I wonder why that one makes it crash. I can't
debug nor trace the error and was only able to send a few reports to Sun (about
10 sorry, before I found out).

If you have any questions or comments,
Jean-Marc Molina

I can confirm poblems with testfile for 1.1.0 German version WIN98SE:
645m19(Build8693)

Firste attempt: Unable to load file, OOo hangs
Second attempt: I was able to load, but Ooo crashed when I tried to
close the file by mouseclick to the "close - X" of the window.

I will attach an error report.

Relation to issue 19960?

Rainer

I can't say if these 2 issues are related but I can't tell you that :
- The test file I provide you with makes OOo Writer 1.1.0 crash (even
with a clean/fresh new install) under Windows 2000, Windows 98SE and
Mandrake 9.1 (got a confirmation from someone on OOoForum : "I found
the same problem. It crashed OOo1.1.0 in both Win 98SE and Mandrake 9.1")
- Problem can be reproduced each time you open the document and try to
close it
- Removing the drawing from the document will allow you to close and
save the document properly
- Sometimes you can't even remove the drawing, OOo just freezes

@od: there must be an error report for this Issue
Comment 8 ulf.stroehler 2003-10-15 14:46:05 UTC
us->od: attached is actually a screenshot of an assertion, which is
preceding the crash. (The assertion is obviously only available in
inhouse debug version). The second attachment is a gdb5111 stacktrace
of the crash (assertion was ignored).
Increasing Prio to 'P2'.
Changing 'OS' to All.

Hi,

Thanks a lot if you were able to fix this issue. So what was the
problem ? My solution was to paste my Drawing objects as bitmaps.

Comment 13 Oliver-Rainer Wittmann 2003-10-16 08:17:51 UTC
OD (16.10.2003):
The cause of the crash was, that grouped drawing objects, which
contains a drawing object of type 'connector', weren't correctly
destructed, if the grouped drawing object is anchored 'as character'.
The defect was introduced by the re-work done for supporting drawing
objects in page header and page footer.

OD->MRU:
Fixed in cws sw7pp1b.
Checked in internal product patch build of cws sw7pp1b. Please verify.
