Description bartkramer 2004-06-27 20:11:34 UTC
first I'd like to say that I really like the new option to add manual line
breaks in calc cells. The following problem occured to me when making a
reference to a cell with a line break.

1. I inserted a few lines of text in cell 'A1' with manual line breaks (ctrl+enter)
2. I cell 'A2'I refer to cell 'A1'with formula '=A1'
3. I cell 'A2' the text of cell 'A1' appears without manual line breaks.

Hi,

as we act like Excel do and this is not a defect, I chnaged the Issue type and
send this for evaluation to Bettina.

hi,
I take the point that this is not a defect if it isn't in the original design,
however this does work in excel and there is therefor a compatability issue. I
opened an excel doc in OOo to find that all the formatting had been lost and so
the data was unprintable within OOo. my only way round this; to convert all
formulas to values in excel first. I am particularly interested in the
concatenate function being able to 'see' line breaks but even the simple '='
reference would really help.
