to reproduce:
Insert in sheet1.A1 some entries with hard coded linebreaks (CHR(10)).
Now set a reference in sheet2.A1 to Sheet1.A1.
The line breaks will not be displayed in sheet2.A1.

The competitor (I tried with excel97) shows the (imo) correct behaviour, if in 
the formatting of Sheet2.A1 the option "enable line breaks" is checked.
