Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 98876
Aqua: Incorrect rendering of rotated text with positive character spacing
Last modified: 2009-06-29 11:47:22 UTC
Words of a text box that is formatted as "rotated 90 degrees ccw" show up in a degree of approx. 80 degrees (see screenshot attached).

The bug occurs only when character spacing is positive (5 pt in the example attached)
MRU->HDU: Exapnded text in a 90° rotated drawing text box will be displayed incorrectly. MAC-specific problem. Exactly reproduced like on the screenshot above.
I cannot reproduce the problem yet. Please attach the document (the one used to make the screenshots) if it is not too much of a bother. And unless the document is confidential, of course.

Rotated text is rendered ok now (on OOO310m11 / Mac OS X). However, spaced characters are rendered incorrectly on screen when the text box is _not_ rotated. Print / exported PDF looks ok (see attachments).
That is a different issue, so I would request you to file a new issue for it. It is not convenient to re-open fixed issues and "mutate" the topic even though just slightly.
